Why Choose Us

Our Model

The emphasis on multisensory, explicit education techniques caters to the diverse learning needs of students with dyslexia.

We engage multiple senses during instruction and provide clear, direct teaching of foundational literacy skills. This approach enhances learning outcomes and builds students' confidence in their abilities.

Our small student-to-teacher ratio of 12-1 promotes inclusivity and eliminates the need for students to be pulled out of their regular classrooms for specialized instruction.

Our Experience

Though 20% of students have dyslexia, TEA reports that only 5.15% of students in Region 20 are identified as students with dyslexia. That means up to 95,583 children in our Region are not getting the services they need to read at grade level.

We embed dyslexia expertise in every classroom by training every educator as an academic language therapist; this model ensures that all teachers are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to support students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

Our Community Enrichment

Our school is co-located at the DoSeum, allowing us to integrate community enrichment activities that enhance students' learning experiences beyond the classroom and foster deeper bonds with teachers and parents. Through our refresh weeks, students will enrich their learning through community resources such as museums, children’s theater, and other multicultural activities.

These weeks are a product of the education initiative of our sister organization, Celebrate Dyslexia.

"My daughter is so happy each and every day. Her skipping into the building at drop off and excited at pick up as well has been game changer. The amount of effort they put into these children is phenomenal. Confidence and them truly building learning skills has made a big difference for our daughter."

"My child has been so happy there and I can already see progress in her reading. She loves her teacher, has made many friends, and enjoys being in the DoSeum. She's having so much fun and her confidence is high! It was a battle to get her needed services in our previous school but in CDS the services are built in to their day. I am so grateful that this school was created."

Thank you to our sponsors and partners

"I'm happy to say my child tells me she is excited to go back to school on Sunday nights. I'm also very appreciative that I have gotten paper work to have my child get a full assessment for dyslexia within the first month. We are grateful for their thoughtful and thorough attention."

"My son is in 2nd grade and absolutely hated school up until this point. He is THRIVING at Celebrate Dyslexia and loves going. It is such a breath of fresh air compared to the last time he was enrolled in school. He is learning so much through play and dyslexia is no longer holding him back!"
